Girls Home

Know about how girls are taken care of and are nutured. We take care of their health and medical needs.

Our children’s homes are duly registered and licensed as per the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act. The girls are in the age group of 6 years to 18 years. Our care and support for those above 18 years extends by way of ‘Sponsorship’ or ‘After care support’.

Care and Nurture

We have resident housemothers who are responsible for the care and nurture of every child. The housemother is given the much-needed training and support to handle every child so that she is able to establish good relationships with every child, understand their needs and provide the much-needed care and support.

Health and Medical care

A healthy and nutritious menu is followed as per the recommendation of a dietitian and is altered occasionally to include variety and to implement suggestions from the children andstaff. A medical team from the local primary health centre pays quarterly visits to the institution for regular medical check-ups followed by basic investigations, and iron and deworming tablets are administered to the children periodically. An on-call paediatrician is available for follow-ups and emergency care, and a resident paramedic is on the payroll.

Children who come with a history of medical complications requiring surgeries and prolonged treatments are diagnosed in premier diagnostic laboratories and treated either at Christian Medical College, Vellore, or SRMC, Chennai, with due intimation to the concerned authorities. Dedicated home care nurses are employed for round-the-clock care for sick children. We preserve and produce all relevant medical histories of our wards upon request. All developmental parameters are closely monitored and recorded and any anomalies are addressed swiftly.

To ensure robust mental health of our children, counsellors are employed by the institution and experts in the field of psychology, psychiatry and childcare counselling pay frequent visits to provide various therapies and special
counselling.
